How the desk handles enquiry records.
This notice explains what Cognit Meridian collects when you write to the reading room, why it is kept, and how to ask for it. It was last revised on 1 September 2026.
Data controller
The data controller is Cognit Meridian, the registered business established in 2019. What we collect
The desk form asks for your name, email address, chosen session, preferred date, and message. The message may include a public transaction signature or account address. Those chain identifiers are public by nature; we still treat your email and the fact that you asked about them as your enquiry.
We do not ask for resident registration numbers, seed phrases, private keys, payment card numbers, or wallet passwords. If you send a private key by mistake, delete it from your sent mail and tell us; we delete that message rather than store it in the enquiry file.
Server logs of the website host may include your IP address and the page requested, kept by the host for security. The cookie page describes the choice stored in your browser.
Why we use it
We use enquiry details to answer you, to hold a seat, to quote an annotation, and to keep a record of what was agreed. The legal bases we rely on are your request before a contract, the contract for a paid sitting or commission, and our legitimate interest in remembering a booking well enough to run the room. Where Korean privacy law requires consent, we ask for it in the reply rather than burying it in a sitting.
Retention
Enquiry emails and form notes are kept for 24 months after the last message in the thread, then deleted. A finished annotation is kept for 12 months so you can ask for another copy, then deleted from the desk's mail. Margin sheets from guided sittings are handed to you; the desk does not scan them unless you ask for a scan as part of a call sitting, in which case the scan follows the 12-month annotation period. Payment transfer references are kept with the booking record for the same 24 months, and longer if tax rules require the invoice copy.
Your rights
Under the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea you may ask to see the enquiry data we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how it is used, and to receive a copy in a common format where that is reasonable. You may withdraw consent where processing was based on consent, without affecting a contract already performed. You may also complain to the Personal Information Protection Commission. Send requests to hello@cognitmeridian.click. We answer within the period Korean law requires, and we may need to confirm that the requester is the person on the booking.
International transfers
The reading room is in Korea, and the staff read mail here. The website host and the email provider may store messages or pages on servers outside the Republic of Korea. Where that happens, we choose providers that offer contractual protection appropriate to a small enquiry file, and we keep the file limited to the fields above. Typefaces on the site are requested from Google's font service, which receives a connection from your browser; see the cookie page.
Sharing
We do not sell enquiry lists. We share a note only with a person you named as the reader of an annotation, or with a professional adviser if the law requires it. Hosting and email vendors process data for us under their own terms as processors or independent providers of those services.
